If you are new to Lakemount and beginning a relationship with Jesus Christ, we would love to partner with you on your journey! The following next steps will help you understand who we are as a church family, God's plans for your life and how you can prosper in the family of God.

Alpha Course

An 11-week course that creates space to have a conversation about life, faith and Jesus. This is a great place to bring your friends and family who have questions about God. Wednesday's at 6:30pm.

Welcome Lunch

If you are new and want to make Lakemount your church family, attending a Welcome Lunch is a great way for you to find out more about us. These lunches are held four times a year directly after the second service. Bring your whole family to learn more about why we do what we do, meet our leaders, and find out how and where you can get connected and serve.

Baptism

Once you’ve made the decision to follow Jesus, the next step is to get baptized! When you’re baptized in water you make a public statement to others that you’re choosing to let your old life go and allowing God to make you new. Baptisms are held several times throughout the year. It’s a step of obedience which declares you want to make Jesus Christ the Lord of your life If you have accepted Christ, we would love to have you go public with your faith!

This is a class for those who want a strong foundation for their faith as they make Lakemount their home church. These classes cover both discipleship training and membership preparation.

Are you a new believer?

Have you made a fresh commitment to follow Jesus Christ as the Lord and Saviour of your life?

This is amazing news! When you turn from a life lived without Jesus, to faith in Him, you have made the greatest decision you could ever make in your life. We believe that the moment you surrender yourself over to His lordship is the very moment that you’ll experience true freedom and purpose as you repent of your sin and receive the power of the Holy Spirit!

Believing in Jesus Christ is an act of faith, based on all that we read about Jesus in the Bible. It is not blind faith, however. It’s putting your trust in a Person, a living and active person Who guides and directs you in life. In some ways it’s like a step of faith taken by a bride and groom when they say "I do!" on their wedding day.

Below is a simple prayer that, when prayed with sincerity, will help you to renew this relationship with Jesus Christ.

"Sorry"

Ask God to forgive you for all the things you have done wrong and then help you turn from them. This is called Repentance, and it simply means to change your mind. The fruit of this repentance is a change in how you live.

"Thank You"

Believing that Jesus died for us on the cross shows us the price that He paid for our sin. He made forgiveness available to all of humanity and gave us the Holy Spirit and this deserves all of our thanks and gratitude!

"Please"

God never forces His way into our lives. We need to accept His gift and make the decision to invite Him to come and live within us by His Spirit.

If you’re ready to begin a relationship with God and say these three things, here is a simple prayer that you can pray:

Lord Jesus Christ,

I am SORRY for the things I have done wrong in my life.

(take a few minutes to ask His forgiveness for anything particular that is on your conscience.)

PLEASE forgive me. I now turn from everything that I know is wrong.

THANK YOU that you died on the cross for me so that I could be forgiven and set free.

I believe that God raised you from the dead.
